Hugolín Gavlovič's nature trail
The
project „Hugolín Gavlovič's
nature trail" was developed in 2006. It is an educational project
including a cycle-hiking lane and an instructive path for foot-passengers. It
focuses on the development of tourism and hiking infrastructure. The project is
based not only on attractive landscape of the border zone, which is rich in
cultural sights, but also on the favourable location
of a bio-spherical UNESCO reservation the protected landscape area of the White
Carpathians, mountain environs, a large wood and meadow area and well-preserved
nature diversity. The result of the project are persistent ties between the
border micro-regions of South Walachia and Zdroje of
the White Carpathians, in the form of cycle-hiking path connecting the
historical micro-regional centres and thereby
creating durable cross-border contacts.
The
unifying element of the common project is the Manuscript of Hugolín
Gavlovič called „Valaška škola mravov stodola"
in colloquial language. It comes from the 18th century and it is a
mixture of Moravian and Slovakian dialects. Its character is educational,
referring even to the present days.
There
are several information boards giving details about the history of particular
places, aims of the cycle-hiking lane, together with some texts focusing on
didactic inheritance of Hugolín Gavlovič's
work. Herewith, the intention to make a link between educational and history
has come true. All that is bound to traditional values, honoured
by the inhabitants of Middle Považie and south
